Whether it’s 50 or 15,000 copies we can produce your book competitively, quickly and maintain communication with you throughout the process.
Our complete service includes typesetting a hand written manuscript, indexing and editing. Generally we receive artwork as print ready files. We will ensure a professional looking product that will be generated to the highest standards. Our designers will be happy to generate a cover for your book or adjust images.
We are able to scan complete books or one off images in both mono or colour. The option to scan a good hard copy is often cheaper than re-keying and setting old publications. Quality re-production will enhance the images within your publication and can bring them back to life.
Short Run Press use the latest lithographic and digital technologies which are supported by a sophisticated pre-press work flow. You may wish to follow your job through imposition and proofing to the press and the bindery. Or you may be working far away at the end of a phone and want only to know that your exacting standards are being monitored and met. At Short Run Press you’re always welcome to see and improve any process for yourself. Because the whole of the production process is under our own roof, we guarantee total quality control.
Digital printing is an increasingly attractive proposition enabling shorter runs of books. Our Canon digital presses are an integral arm of the digital workflow. They fit perfectly with all of our pre-press technology, enabling us to print direct from PDF files or to scan and print from original copy. Once the work has been printed, sheets can be folded to make saddle-stitched booklets or folded into sections to make a sewn book block. The more common and economical solution is perfect binding: the digital system prints a complete book block ready for binding.
Digital and litho production can furthermore run along side each other, making it possible to produce a quality, full-colour product at a very reasonable price.
Many publications use a combination of litho and digital print, more commonly publications use our sophisticated digital workflow to add colour into mono books at a very affordable price.
